Blethen retains girls’ title in Class C SouthSt. Dominic and Maine Coast Waldorf capture team championships.CUMBERLAND — Boothbay Region sophomore Faith Blethen stood behind the finish line of the Class C South cross country championship girls’ meet Saturday, her race long over, cold rain falling on her bare shoulders.As each runner finished the race, Blethen offered a welcoming hand and an encouraging word.“It’s awful conditions for everybody,” she said. “I’m not the only one who went through it. Jacob Hickey wins Southern C cross country championshipWinthrop senior follows up strong showing at MVC race with another one Saturday.CUMBERLAND — Jacob Hickey had no problem subduing the field at the Mountain Valley Conference cross country championships Oct. 15 at the University of Maine at Augusta.Hickey, a Winthrop High School senior, won that race by a near two minutes.He just as dominant Saturday at Twin Brook Recreation Area.Hickey won the Southern C championship with a time of 16:40.62. Blue boys cross country team. Falmouth, Greely, MCW run to regional titlesSaturday’s regional cross country meet at Twin Brook Recreation Center in Cumberland was a non-stop show of dominance from Forecaster Country teams and individuals.Falmouth swept the Class A titles, Greely did the same in Class B, Maine Coast Waldorf School took the Class C boys’ crown and out of 12 local teams that took part, 11 punched tickets to the state meet this coming Saturday.Alone at the tophttp://www.theforecaster.net/falmouth-g ... al-titles/
