sport /spôrt/NounAn activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others.I'd say that cheerleading at a basketball or football game is not a sport. However, cheering has evolved over the last 25+ years into a sport. I put it in the same sports class as gymnastics and ice skating. Competitions with subjective scoring.
