Orono captures crownRed Riots prevail despite injury From Staff Reports MILLINOCKET, Maine — The Orono High School cheerleading team went into Saturday’s Penobscot Valley Conference Classes C-D championship meet at Stearns High School feeling a bit apprehensive. After a team member dislocated her knee in practice Wednesday night, the Red Riots had only two days to revamp their routine.Apparently those two days were put to great use as they simplified their stunts, beefed up their dance moves, and made all the right moves to score 125.2 points and win their first PVC title in several years.“One of my main bases, Amanda York, dislocated her knee Wednesday and we had to rework the routine,” said Orono second-year coach Leslie Tuell. “Our degree of difficulty in our dances was the difference because we had to dumb down some of our stunts with the injury.”For full storyhttp://www.bangordailynews.com/detail/134474.html
