York advances with 43-0 win over Mountain Valley

YORK, Maine — From the first time he saw it, longtime Mountain Valley football coach Jim Aylward didn't like his first-round matchup against York in the Western Maine Class B quarterfinals.
"We match up with a lot of teams, but I never thought we matched up well with York at all," said Aylward. "I said it back in August, and I'll say it again now: If you can get (Sean) Kelly up and running behind that line, nobody is going to stop them. We just don't match up with them."
Aylward's prediction was proven correct as Kelly pounded out 192 yards on 14 carries, while junior quarterback Ross Hogan fired two touchdown passes in leading the third-seeded Wildcats to a 43-0 win over No. 6 Mountain Valley.
