KITTERY, Maine — There was some disappointment among members of the Traip Academy boys soccer team knowing that no matter what happened in Monday night’s regular-season finale against Lake Region, they would be on the outside looking in on the Western Maine Class C tournament.
For a group of five seniors that’s been a win shy of qualifying for the tournament in each year of their careers, they at least left on a high note, with a 4-0 victory over Class B Lake Region at Shapleigh Middle School. The game was played under temporary lights purchased by the Traip Academy athletic boosters in celebration of Senior Night.
Senior captain Brandon Metevier scored two goals for the Rangers, while fellow captain Gavin Frisbee scored his only goal of his career. Gabriel Mancini netted the other Traip goal.
