Red Hot Red Riots Over Bonny Eagle Scots 68-47
By The WIZ

This was a very interesting game at Beal Gymnasium in South Portland tonight. Everyone knows that Bonny Eagle is short-handed with injuries but the Scots have been playing very well. Coach Rick Simonds has his Scots scrapping and playing very good basketball but the Red Riots of South Portland were too much tonight.

In the 1st qurarter the Scots played right with the Riots. The first few minutes it was the Keegan Hyland/ John Onesti show has Hyland scores 9 straight points and Onesti scores 6 straight points as the Riots lead 9-6 with 3:20 to play in the first period. Jon Onesti was very impressive tonight as he scored 9 of his game high 24pts. in the first period to keep the Scots close but the Riots held a 2pt. lead after one period 16-14.

The story of this game was in the 2nd period as the Riots Will Furbush scored 11 of his 20pts. in the 2nd and Hyland added 5, Matt Lee a 3 Nick Wright two deuces as the Riots outscored the Scots 25-8 to take a halftime lead of 19pts. 41-22.

In the 3rd and 4th periods teams played pretty even as both teams put up 14 points apiece in the 3rd and the Riots out scored the Scots 13-11 in the final period as the Riots come away with the win 68-47.

Bonny Eagles John Onesti was everywhere tonight. This kid can play. He is a rebounding machine, plays a very tough defense and he can put the ball in the hoop. Also Nate Doehler is a tremendous athlete who can play the game of basketball.

The Riots Hyland and Furbush really Lit-It-Up tonight. Furbush had 20 and Hyland had 18 points. Furbush had 18 of his 20 in the first half and Hyland had 14 of his 18 points in the first half. South Portlands Nick Wright is looking better every game. The very athletic senior had 13pts and sophomore Matt Lee also playing very well had 6pts. to help in the cause.

With the win the Riots improve to 10-2 and the Bonny Eagle Scots now stand at 6-6.
