Fryeburg steps on Spruce's playoff hopes

FRYEBURG — The box score will show Spruce Mountain's season ended on Devine Dockery's three-yard touchdown run with 57 seconds left. But when the Phoenix jog their memories about Saturday's one-game wild card for a Campbell Conference playoff spot, the jog will rarely get beyond the third quarter.
Fryeburg Academy epic 14-play, 83-yard drive turned a 7-6 deficit into a 14-7 victory which secured for the Raiders the seventh seed in next week's quarterfinals and simultaneously sabotaged Spruce Mountain's playoff hopes Saturday afternoon.
