Sept. 8, 2008

MBR On The Air is proud to announce it will doing an entire day at Everett High School in conjunction with the school’s Sept. 20 Homecoming. To start the day, MBR On The Air, Shales and Danny V. Talking High School Sports, will be on live from Everett Memorial Stadium from 10-12 in the morning. Then, at 1:30, a pre-game show will air, followed by the 2:00 game between two of the highest-ranked teams in the state – all on 1510 The Zone.

We’re looking forward to getting out and meeting the people hours before the game,” Mike Shalin said of the show’s first remote broadcast. “There will be a great atmosphere around there that day and we’re happy to be a part of it.”

Everett’s 26th straight win was a major topic on this past Saturday’s show, with coach John DiBiaso one of many guests welcomed by Shales and Danny V. after the first night of football action. Now, the show is coming to DiBiaso and his team.

Dracut opened the season, its first under Jeff Moore, with a 34-32 win over Brocton at Rocky Marciano Stadium in Brockton.

“This should be a great game in a great setting,” says Danny Ventura.

Anyone from either town interested in supporting the day by advertising with us On The Air can contact us at www.sales@mbr.org.

The first annual No Player Left Behind charity golf tournament will take place Oct. 2 at the Presidents Golf Club in Quincy. The cost is $125 per golfer and includes lunch with former Red Sox pitcher Mike Torrez, as well as the MBR crew.

For information on playing, sponsoring a hole, or helping out any way you can, contact Joe Martone at joe@mbr.org.

No Player Left Behind is our non-profit arm, which provides funds to kids (and even programs) short on cash as they attempt to compete.
