By Ernie Clark..The 2010 Eastern Maine schoolboy basketball tournament was filled with moments to remember. Many of those moments stemmed from the play of Yusef Iman of Edward Little of Auburn, Tyler McFarland of Camden Hills of Rockport, Ben Teer of Washington Academy of East Machias and Brandon Theriault of Schenck of East Millinocket, this year’s recipients of the William C. Warner Most Valuable Player Award.

By Pete Warner..In the second game, Camden Hills applied relentless defensive pressure at one end and took advantage of their balanced offense at the other in beating Medomak Valley (15-5) for the third time this season. The Panthers never backed down, but could not contain Windjammers 6-foot-6 junior forwards Tyler McFarland and Keegan Pieri. McFarland led the way with 23 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots, while Pieri scored 15 points. Camden Hills attacked the basket relentlessly, which resulted in numerous trips to the foul line, where they went 23-for-31

By Pete Warner..BANGOR, Maine — Medomak Valley built a 13-point lead, then held off a furious charge by Presque Isle to earn a 46-42 Eastern Maine Class B boys basketball tournament victory Saturday morning at the Bangor Auditorium. The fifth-seeded Panthers of Waldoboro (15-4) advance to Wednesday’s 3:35 p.m. semifinal against the winner of Saturday’s 3:05 p.m. quarterfinal between No. 1 Camden Hills and No. 9 Mount Desert Island. Fourth-seeded Presque Isle closes out the season at 17-2.

BY GARY HAWKINS..GARDINER — The Medomak Valley boys basketball team is the best-kept secret in the Class B division of the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference. Located in Waldoboro, the Panthers play out of the limelight and draw little press coverage. But they can play. Friday night, they dispatched Gardiner 60-46 to run their record to 11-2.
