For 18 years, Tom Nolette of MBR basketball has promoted the game in a positive way, assisting coaches, parents and players in forming teams,  helping individual players find teams to play on, offering premier teams for recruitable athletes and hosting events for teams to play in.  We have also helped many players and parents along the way to determine best fit for collegiate play.

We believe in the team, coaches, parents and players determining the mission of their team..   We are here to help answer any questions or offer best way ideas…. The choices should be yours and we support those efforts

Register your team with MBR Basketball

The number of quality players far outweighs the number of coaches available. It is therefore necessary for players and parents to become involved in organizing their own teams. The steps are simple and are as follows:

1. Find a coach. Most of you have been involved with basketball for many years in your community and probably can think of people who may want to become involved, if asked.

2. Choose players who fit into the same grade/age division. (see attached listing for breakdown of age divisions)

3. Register players and coaches, For current year, fill out team registration form enclosed and submit with fees ($15 per player and coach) Your team is ready to practice and compete with the insurance coverage

4. Procure uniforms or reversible tops with numbers is all that is required. ( MBR has procured some pricing for you )

5. Submit rosters and tournament fees to tournament director ( Go to MBR Events  on www.mbr.org )

Note:  Team name- You may chose to use your own team name ie: Maine Wildcats, etc or you can request to use the MBR brand.  

Insurance, rules, where to play are a few concerns all teams have..  We can discuss all these topics with you and offer suggestions..  We are affiliated with USSSA basketball with our insurance offerings.  You will be an independent team and as such, you can request your certificates of insurance when facilities request, etc…..  You decide when to practice or play for your team, to charge and collect fees from your team to cover your teams cost as you see fit

Find a team for your son or daughter to play on

MBR will offer 2 ways for your son or daughter to find a team to play on
1. We will communicate with all teams to see if they are in need of a player of your sons or daughter age

2. MBR is planning on tryouts in various regions ..  We are working with area volunteers to host tryouts with the goal to form teams locally and regionally.  We currently are finalizing tryout dates for :
MBR - L/A  ( Lewiston / Auburn)
MBR - Bangor
MBR - Portland
MBR - Western Maine
- Dates and times to be announced soon..

MBR Events

MBR has been running quality events since 1993..  We recommend playing in the 1-day open series options. 
- Your team can play 2 games in 1 day ( with a short wait in between games)
- Cost is $ 75 per game

We work with teams to match up for competitive games..
