Maine softball not letting bad weather get in the way of success

ORONO - Monday's winter-esque weather in Orono was a microcosm of this spring, so naturally, it is not something any University of Maine squad is not used to. That includes softball.

Last year, softball played just six home games when weather postponed most of its games at Kessock Field. This past weekend, Maine managed to get in two of three scheduled contests with UMBC (both of which were wins), before Sunady's game was cancelled due to inclement weather. While that could start and stop momentum for some teams, Maine head coach Mike Coutts says his team doesn't make excuses.
