Look for Wells to win their 3rd Championship in 3 different classes since 2011 ~
2011 Class B State Champions over Leavitt 21-13 in what was a great Championship game.
2016 Class C State Champions over MDI 44-0 dominate performance by the Warriors!
My prediction 2017 Class D State Champions Wells 46-12 over Foxcroft. Wells has pretty much dominated everyone this season with the exception being a close win over Class C State Championship participant Cape Elizabeth.
Wells also won the 1997 Class B Championship 32-30 over Belfast. Wells has a very strong football tradition, great coaching staff, great community support, and a quality youth program feeding the Jr. High and High School teams.
GO WARRIORS!

I'm sure many of the Wells kids will be headed directly from football into the wrestling room where they should be considered the strong front runner to win a 2nd consecutive wrestling State Championship!

I dont think Wells defense will give up much wouldn't be surprised of a repeat of last years shutout.

Stiffening defenses help forge championship opportunities

...The Ponies will enter that contest coming off three consecutive shutout victories, including a 40-0 win over Dexter in the regional semifinals and a 34-0 decision over Bucksport in last Friday night’s North regional final.

“Most important has been our growth on the defensive side of the ball, particularly the last month of the season we’ve played a lot more physically at the line of scrimmage and we’ve tackled better,” said ninth-year Foxcroft head coach Danny White. “We made that an area of focus in practice and felt like if we could ramp up our defensive efforts and give our offense a chance to be in better field position because of it, we were going to be that much further ahead.

“I really feel like that was the difference for us, that our physical play on the defensive side of the ball down the stretch has led us to this point.”
