Haley Lowell of Messalonskee High in Oakland and Sydney Meader of Boothbay have been named finalists for the Miss Maine Field Hockey award, given to the state’s top senior player.

Boothbay Region, Messalonskee seniors are Miss Maine Field Hockey finalists

Boothbay Region High School forward Sydney Meader, who shattered her own single season scoring record this fall, and Messalonskee High School midfielder Haley Lowell, who led the Eagles to another Class A North championship game appearance, are the finalists for the Miss Maine Field Hockey Award.

The Miss Maine Field Hockey Award goes to the state’s top senior and the winner will be announced at a banquet at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Meader, who will play at the University of Maine in the fall, had set the school mark with 24 goals in 2016 but scored 35 this past fall to go with two assists.

She concluded her exceptional career with a school-record 83 goals along with 17 assists.
