Waters named running backs coach for Colby football team

Sep 04, 2017
WATERVILLE, Maine -- Kevin Waters, an assistant coach at four colleges, is the new running backs coach for Jonathan Michaeles and the Colby College football team.

Waters most recently was the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for Allegheny College. A native of Norristown, Pa., Waters spent two seasons with the Gators.

"We are very happy to have Kevin on staff and I'm confident he will do a terrific job leading our running backs," Colby head coach Jonathan Michaeles said. "With his coaching experience on the Division III level, Kevin will be a great asset to our program."

Waters led the linebackers for two years at Juniata College. He helped the Eagles to 12 wins and oversaw the scout team. Waters served as co-director of the Juniata Football Prospect Camp, Juniata Youth Camp, and Big Man 7-on-7 Camp.

Waters was in West Virginia for three years as a defensive line graduate assistant in 2010 and 2011 for Bethany College. He was promoted to outside linebackers coach in 2012. Waters earned his master's degree in teaching from Bethany.

Waters' first coaching job was as assistant offensive line coach for Delaware Valley College in 2009. He helped the Aggies go 10-2 and advance to the second round of the NCAA playoffs.

During his collegiate playing days, Waters was a 2007 All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MEAC) selection at offensive line for Division I LaSalle University. He graduated with honors with a double major in marketing and management.

Husson scheduling to help facilitate late-season success

...“It’s just like pitching in baseball. You see 90 (miles per hour), you see 90, you see 90, you get used to it and it’s the same thing in football,” said Price of the tougher schedule. “What happens is you get used to playing certain teams, you get used to playing a certain level of competition.

“We’ve always said we want to be a great team in New England.”

Husson is set to move its football program to the Commonwealth Coast Conference in 2019. The CCC already includes Eagles’ other two nonconference foes this season, Western New England College and Endicott College.
