"duke11": Some questions?

USC ia Universsity of South Carolina not University of Southern California. right?

Has he graduated from UMaine so that he is eligible immediately as a post graduate student athlete?

If he didn't graduate does he have to sit out a year?

If that is the case has he gone by the 5 years to play 4 years rule?

2 years a Niagara as a frosh and soph, 1 sit out year transfer rule to Maine, played junior year at Maine.

if he has to sit out then he would be already up to 5 years unless because UMaine didn't want him to return then does he get a special dispensation from the NCAA to play right away?

Or he sit outs and gets a special NCAA dispensation for 6 years to play 4 years?

Just "wonderin."

imposter: Thank you very much. Very, very interesting move by Myers. Glad he graduated on time from Maine so he does not have to sit out a year. As a veteran Senior guard and only 3 seniors on the roster including Myers he should get playing time.

Another question, does anyone know where walkon Ryan Bernstein has transferred too?

"duke11": Thanks very much. You have great connections. I believe he is a walkon so he will be immediatelty eligible to play this coming season. I believe that is the rule for walkons. It's the scholarship players that have to sit out a year when they transfer to another D-1 school.

So both Myers and Bernstein have defintelty moved up the rankings from UMaine's, Myers to a national contender and final four participant last year and Kent State plays in a good conference stronger than American East. Too bad he didn't land a scholarship at Kent State.

Of all the players who have transferred out from UMaine Men's program the past two seasons most of them have moved up considerably in the 351 team RPI rankings.

Let's see: Little to Colorado State and then to Tennesses-Martin, Vann to VCU, Eke to Rider, Harewood to a Juco and now to a D-1 school in South Carolina and a King to a D-2 school in New York after the 20i6 season.

in 2017 Myers to USC, Bernstein to Kent State, Pirovic to a top Canadian team, Can't remember where Howard and McKennon went, but they went to D-1 schools ranked higher than Maine If I remember correctly.

Interesting that so many of the transfers moved up in team RPI's and Conference RPI's higher than Maine and the America east Conference. So someone thinks that they are good enough to play at the schools that they transferred to.

Wes Myers Completes Graduate Transfer from UMaine to South Carolina

ORONO, MAINE (WABI) - The UMaine men's basketball team's leading scorer last year, Wes Myers, completed his transfer from the program today joining the University of South Carolina men's team. S.C. made the Final Four last year. It seemed when the announcement came he was leaving the program it was due to an altercation and subsequent suspension during the end of last season.

...“Getting the job done been working all summer. On and off the court. Ending my academic summer on a good note A, A-, B+ and a B-,” Myers said in a July 24 Twitter post.

According to The State newspaper of Columbia, South Carolina, the University of South Carolina had offered Myers a scholarship coming out of Boys and Girls High School in Brooklyn, New York, where he helped his alma mater win its first state title in 2012.

Myers instead signed with Niagara and spent two years there before transferring to UMaine where he sat out one year before playing last winter.
