The State of Trump's Union

The transgender/military tweet was shrewd. It served to divert everyone, and send both sides into a frenzy of indignation over a problem that never really existed. The Joint Chiefs reaction tells us all we need to know.

Meanwhile: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/4 ... -officials

And this is a brutal collection of right-wing reactions to Trump: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/ar ... st/534927/

The Senate is struggling to pass a HC Bill that they hope the House doesn't vote for. Just so they can claim political credit for trying to repeal Obamacare. No reform, no repeal, nothing.... just a bunch of meaningless votes in a hurry before the August recess. Why do these clowns deserve a vacation?

Trump's Communication Director reported Trump's Chief of Staff to the FBI today for leaking something he didn't leak. And Trump hates the FBI, and they hate him. Sessions actually said today that Trump's constant attacks have been "hurtful".

North Korea has escalated their WMD program. Putin is threatening us. And the rest of the world thinks we're a joke.

No budget, and we're still steamrolling towards the fiscal cliff. Trump hasn't tweeted about that. There is no defense of him, none.

You provide specific details of this administration that aren't arguable & some that are, (the NORKS & Putin...please just stop...at least an attempt is being made to confront/deter rather than defer/appease).

But the overall theme is one of a failing presidency....so....the status quo of the past 13 years, (GWB 3/03-01/09, BHO 01/09-01/17),is being maintained....I've believed all along that another failed presidency will be incredibly difficult to recover from...& here we are. Its only 6 months in but it is difficult to view this as anything other than the way I wrote here of this mess late last summer....quoting myself..."...character is destiny and we KNOW both of these people...it really makes no difference who wins, this ends in tears...."....

shrug....maybe someone primarys Trumpy in '20 (Sasse? Cruz? Haley?) & wins....maybe a normal liberal Democrat can beat back the social progressives that dominate the donkeys right now & claim their nomination. Then we can have a real election & finally consign the dumpster fire '16 election to the memory hole...

If Hillary had won and the GOP controlled Congress we'd have a series of investigations, it would be like having Bill in office again.

You didn't include him. We'd be better off with her, I'll bet that the President of the Boy Scouts would agree today.

But it's too late now. Trump will create far more damage than GWB and BHO put together. The GOP could put the pedal to the metal on a whole slew of investigations that would sink him. Then they'd get Pence. Do it!

Looks like they're going to turn their focus to HRC, WJC, Lynch et al.

I included Trumpy in my overall point...just no dates because he's not finished.

It's frustrating as hell because the poor character, the chaos, the bullsh** overwhelms some of the very good things (in my view) that are being attempted. Again, character is destiny....the guy can't handle political success. Every time something good occurs....set the clock ticking...we've got a pile a crap to dwarf the success on the way....

The helluva it is.....Trumpy's approval #'s suck....but (in descending order) his #'s are higher than Congress' as a whole, the R's are next, after that in 3rd are the D's....& bringing up the rear, with absolutely ignominiously low approval/trust #'s are the BHG's in the legacy media... yet the Democrat party is a total mess, the DNC meets any definition of being a financially bankrupt organization, by contrast the RNC is financially positively flush & flourishing.....point is as things stand today....Trumpy is getting a 2nd term....you get that, right?

Later edit....re better off with HRC....? NO....AW, HELL NO....NO F**KING WAY.....NO....as bad as this is....NO....

The Dems are a hot mess. If nothing else we could get a credible third party out of this. The Moderates! Instead of a donkey or an elephant we'd be represented by an old yellow lab, or perhaps a bowl of vanilla ice cream. But we wouldn't tweet and we'd get the job done.

This is unreal (NSFW language alert): http://www.newyorker.com/news/ryan-lizz ... eve-bannon

Scarmucci was not a great choice, but very Trumpian.

Been a long, long time....but 3rd party is how we got Lincoln....

We (the people) need an Article V convention...DESPERATELY....look it up...its in the Constitution & there are people that are trying to make it happen...

Who is this jackwagon Scaramucci? What an a**hole....everyone should just....shhhhh....& let Sarah Huckabee Sanders handle the public messaging....she is proving herself to be exceptional....

And there's your sainted "compromise" Mikey. Disguised as compromise the embedded Democrat, Susan Collins, capitulates to the braying mob of social progressives.

Not even a "skinny" repeal of Barry's gargantuan health insurance fiasco will be tolerated. They're gonna give us the taxes, regulations and mandates good and hard...

We already knew Murkowski was a lying, cowardly betrayer & McCain can be forgiven because....McCain + he's literally a dead man walking and so will face no consequences for his actions. No, it is no longer "the Republicans can't get anything done on health insurance"....it is "Queen Collins has decreed that nothing will be done on health insurance"; as Danaerys Targareon is the "Mother of Dragons", Queen Collins is the Mother of Single Payer in America.

So down the road when you wait a year for knee replacement, when your 75 year old grand parent is denied life extending care in the name of fiscal responsibility, when a tragedy along the lines of Charlir Gard occurs & the hospital steals the child & then murders that child in the name of "dignity & compassion".....you know who to thank....be sure to drop to a knee, bow your head & offer your sword to....Queen Collins.

What? I just watched Lindsey Graham call the bill a fraud. Is voting for a fraud the new litmus test for conservatives? They complained for seven years, and that's the best they could do? The GOP bill had a 17% approval rating. That makes 83% of the public your "braying mob of social progressives".

This was a complete farce. It would have left most of Obamacare intact while making changes that would have made it even worse. It is ridiculous to blame Susan Collins for the complete failure of the GOP to do their job. If Mr. Art of the Deal had the skills that morons bought into he could have sold Congress a better solution, but he's been too busy tweeting.

This loser's administration is at each other's throats. His sawed off little Communications Director tried to leak information without asking to be off the record with a reporter, in an attempt to deal with White House leaks. And the Joint Chiefs of Staff just gave Trump a very public pimp slap.

Yet you blame Collins instead of Trump. Unreal.

Baloney on Lindsey Graham-nesty....

The purpose in passing the "skinny" deal was to get health insurance into "conference" with the House. The SKINNY wan't intended to become law. It was intended to continue the process....you know, the REGULAR ORDER we discussed earlier in the week. We have no idea what the House/Senate collaboration might have produced. But no...Queen Collins decreed that the process will go no further, it is dead, we will have ObamaCollinsCare forevermore...
