Breland transfers from Hillhouse to Hamden Hall

Two-time Register All-State boys basketball player Byron Breland III has decided to transfer from Hillhouse and enroll at Hamden Hall.

Breland helped the Academics win consecutive Class LL state championships, the latter team finishing No. 1 in the final Register/GameTimeCT Top 10 poll at 28-1. This is the first notable transfer into the Hamden Hall program since Sean Doherty was named head coach in late April, replacing David Beckerman.

Doherty confirmed that Breland will reclassify as a junior.

“I’m really excited to have him for two years,” Doherty said. “I want to welcome him and his family back to Hamden Hall (Breland attended Hamden Hall before coming to Hillhouse). His brother graduated from here.”
