This Could Have Been Bad

It is too late to be wondering if your safety equipment is adequate and that it is used properly when you have gone this far into a roll. Fortunately Caribou’s Marcel Bosse has good safety equipment and it is adjusted properly. This and the hand of God allowed him to survive with only bruises and bumps.

Bosse said, “Well after the dust has settled and the cob webs have cleared from my head, I would like to send a shout out and huge thank you to JRT Customs for all the work he has done on my kart. I walked away from a kart crash this weekend that could have ended bad if all the safety gear didn’t work as well as it did. Thanks Jason. ”

Bosse and his daughter Janet worked on the kart post flip and had it ready for the next heat. ” Oh yeah,” said Bosse, ” we fixed it that day and I drove it in a heat and the feature. It wasn’t until on our way home that night that I realized how bad it was.”

It Is Second Place in Michigan for Maine Racer Austin Theriault

After riding in the top 10 all afternoon at the ARCA Corrigan 200 at Michigan International Speedway, Austin Theriault used a series of events to rocket through the pack to finish second. His last visit to the Brooklyn, Michigan track he won with Venturini Motorsports in June of 2014.

“We were off on the balance of the car all day including qualifying,” said the Fort Kent native. ” Then at the end the track was undergoing changes with the rubber that was laid down. We put on four new tires, made some minor changes, the sun came out, and we realized it was ‘gotta go’ time.”

“Everybody worked real hard on the Ken Schrader Racing team. They never gave up and remained confident.”

Win Three For Maine Racer Theriault

Running in the fifth and sixth positions in the early part of Friday’s ARCA race at Madison International Speedway in Oregon, Wisconsin, Theriault needed a couple excellent pit stops to put him in the right position to grab the lead.

“It was important. It allowed us to be in a position to win,” said Theriault. “We were the first best car on fresh tires which allowed us to play offense and defense at the same time.”

With 15 laps to go it looked like the #15 car of Christian Eckes would get by Theriault, however, a caution flag allowed Theriault to regroup. On the restart Eckes fell back while Zane Smith moved into second to challenge for the lead.

Teen Age Tractor Puller Makes His Debut

When he received the news that he had won the Northern Maine Antique Tractor Club tractor. Logan Longley(13 years old) scratched his head and said,”Oh ya, I did buy them tickets”.

In the spring of 2016 he bought a $5.00 book of tickets from the tractor club at the Northern Maine Agribusiness Trade Show at the Forum in Presque Isle. He along with his parents, Lance and Lisa Longley of Caribou, picked up the tractor and brought it home.

There was more to the story, however, when it was discovered that Logan has Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE or “skiffy”), a rare hip-joint problem where the ball comes out of the socket. It typically affects 2 out of 100,000 children.

Mount Washington Hillclimb 2017 Provides Thrills as Records Fall
Pastrana Shatters Mt. Washington Hillclimb Record By 20 Seconds

David Higgins in the #75 2017 Subaru WRX STI ripped the left rear suspension off in an unplanned meeting with some rocks and the edge of the road on his first run of Sunday’s Climb to the Clouds (#CTTC2017) . This opened the door for team-mate Travis Pastrana in the #199 Subaru.

Pastrana did not disappoint the hundreds gathered at the famous Mount Washington Toll Road. In his first run up the hill he knocked 20 seconds off the old record set by David Higgins of 6 minutes and 6 seconds.

The Wyatt Alexander Racing (WAR) team ran a limited race schedule this season concentrating on a variety of venues throughout New England including a venture into New Brunswick. The light schedule allowed time for adequate preparation of the race car and its driver.

Wyatt begins the next phase of his educational career at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte majoring in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on motorsports. The Ellsworth High School 2017 graduate leaves August 6th to take up residence before classes begin.
