Sole
Caceres
Kelava
Stoj

Obviously this is a huge blow to the program if true. And maybe even more importantly it probably signals that Barron will not return as head coach next season. Bad news all around.....the fun never ends in Orono, Maine!

Alba at Channel 7 confirms.

Makes you wonder about the internal issues within the program. Very surprised about this, with the exception of Cacares.

Agreed. I don't feel that Caceres fit in/was happy from the beginning. She was highly touted but never really impressed me much at all. Not sure that her international game translated well to the D-1 American game.

Sole did great 1st half under Barron but faded 2nd half under Vachon. She had great offensive skills in the paint. She will be missed!

Most sad/shocked to see Kelava go. She is a true talent and athlete! I expect to see her land in a P5 program. She is the "Issac Vann" out of this group IMO. Ouch.... :( :| :(

Stoj was a great athlete as well that needed some time to develop. She might end up at a high level program that has the patience & available scholarship to develop her skills.

Is there any other athletic program in the country that makes more news off the court/field/ice than in actual competitions? Good grief!

mainejeff: Interesting that they all are post players except Caceres who should have post up skills for her height. They all better be careful where they consider possibly transferring to as when none of them have the needed fundamental posts skills to be any type of real offensive threats in D-1 basketball the way they try to get the ball on the block and that they do not have any power layup skills.

All they did all season long was rush their shots, shoot on the move, NEVER STOPPING TO POWER BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE POWER LAYUP SKILLS IN THEIR OFFENSIVE REPETOIRE as they just floated to the basket for low percentage shots and NO old fashion 3 point plays. as this floating business just took them out of any offensive rebound put backs of their own misses.

It looked like that they were worried about getting their shots blocked if defenders were close to them or they were worried about being in the free throw lane to long for 3 second violations, which means that they did not or do not know the 3 second rule here in the states.

Sometimes the grass looks like it's greener on the other side of the fence but that is because it is over a ____________.

Too bad, but for these players a "bird in the hand (UMaine) is worth 2 in the bush" (Other schools looking to transfer too).

Was hoping this wasn't true :(
Why, why and why :o :o :o
Agree on Caceres being upset with PT and not fitting in. Where are they going, to another school or back home???

Hernandez-Pepe is also transferring. That makes 5.

6 open scholarships as of right now for next season. I'm sure that this is all just a coincidence.

Would not be surprised to see some go home. This isn't exactly the most welcoming country for foreigners these days. :|

Yeah, I thought that was weird too. For a program that is so visible and successful...that statement seems like a total FU to everyone who has a stake in the program.

It's time to come clean on whether Barron is returning or not! I don't need to or want to know what his illness is....but I do want to know who the head coach is next season! And you can bet that it will be very difficult to fill 6 or 7 scholarships when you can't even tell recruits who their head coach will be!

The UMaine Athletic Dept. really IS bizarro world! Just when you think that you've seen or heard it all........ :?  :?
