Maine players to kick off season on Husson women’s soccer team
BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women’s soccer team will receive a boost this season from homegrown talent as five of the seven incoming freshmen are from Maine.
“The incoming class is going to have a great impact on our team this season,” second-year coach Amanda Cummings said in a news release Wednesday. “Their athleticism, knowledge, and competitiveness is something to look forward too. They will fit in exceptionally well with the returning group and are already dedicated to improving our squad.”
The players from Maine, with their former high schools and club teams, are: forward/midfielder Ryleigh Lord, Mount View of Thorndike and Central Maine United; goalkeeper Gabi Martin, Waterville and Central Maine United; forward Arianna McKinnon, Penobscot Valley of Howland and Seacoast United; goalie Angela Daigle, Leavitt of Turner; and midfielder/fullback Michaela Sprague, Erskine Academy of South China and Central Maine United
