Friday camp preview: Mariota gets his first game action
NFL Nation previews what to watch for on Friday, including Marcus Mariota's pro debut. The No. 2 overall pick has been solid in practice, but can he replicate that in a game setting?

NFL Nation reporters look ahead to Friday practices and preseason games.

AFC EAST

Buffalo Bills: The Bills will open their preseason Friday night against the Carolina Panthers. Expect Matt Cassel to start at quarterback and Tyrod Taylor to enter the game after Cassel. Defensive tackle Kyle Williams (quad), guard Richie Incognito (ankle) and running back Fred Jackson (hamstring) are among players who most likely won't play due to injuries. -- Mike Rodak

Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins have the day off following their preseason-opening loss in Chicago. Linebackers Chris McCain (ankle), Jordan Tripp (leg) and Koa Misi (calf) all need the extra time to nurse injuries. -- James Walker

New England Patriots: Following the preseason opener against the Packers, there will be plenty of analyzing the work of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in New England -- both internally and externally. Garoppolo completed 20 of 30 passes for 159 yards and an interception and was sacked seven times. With the possibility that Tom Brady is out for the first four games of the season, Thursday night provided a glimpse of sorts at what life might look like for the first quarter of the schedule. -- Mike Reiss

Tebow gets standing ovation in Eagles debut

Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Tim Tebow received a standing ovation from fans Sunday as he took the field for the first time in his return to the NFL. Monday camp preview: Monitoring the health of Richard Sherman and more

Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins will hold their final training camp practice Monday in South Florida. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill continues to work on his red zone passing leading up to joint practices and a preseason game against the Panthers later this week. -- James Walker

New England Patriots: The Patriots return to work after taking Sunday off, and the primary question is if any of their injured/rehabilitating players are ready to return. Specifically, we'll be watching for receiver Julian Edelman, tight end Scott Chandler and offensive tackles Nate Solder and Marcus Cannon. -- Mike Reiss

New York Jets: The Jets are off Monday, which is probably a good thing. They need a cooling-off period after tempers flared Sunday, with two skirmishes in practice. When the Jets return Tuesday, they will start to prepare to face the Falcons on Friday night. -- Rich Cimini

NFL Preseason 2015: Game times, TV schedule, online streaming for Saturday and Sunday

Week 2 of the NFL preseason continues this week with a host of teams playing Saturday and Sunday.

This week, expect NFL teams to leave their starters in for longer than a series or two like last week. Teams tend to want a better look at their best players in action for longer stretches in Week 2, and will leave their starters in for at least one full quarter and sometimes as long as an entire half.

The action begins Saturday night on the NFL Network when the Philadelphia Eagles play host to the Baltimore Ravens. This will be the 2015 debut of Sam Bradford, who tore his ACL in the preseason last year and missed all of 2014.
