Sea Dogs Guarantee Baseball on Opening Day
Opening Day Tickets Exchangeable for Double the Rain Check Policy, if Game is NOT Played

Portland, Maine- The Portland Sea Dogs are scheduled to open the 2015 baseball season on Thursday, April 9th at 6:00 PM at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. Despite the record breaking harsh winter, the Sea Dogs are guaranteeing the team will be playing baseball on April 9th in Portland.

"We are ready for spring and confident that it will arrive along with baseball season on April 9th," stated Sea Dogs General Manager Geoff Iacuessa. "We have the best grounds crew in the league, I have no doubt we will be ready for the season opener, therefore I am guaranteeing Sea Dogs baseball will be played on April 9th in Portland."

If the Sea Dogs should not be able to play on April 9th for any reason (field not ready, rain, snow, etc.), the Sea Dogs will double the normal rain check policy by providing two tickets to a future 2015 Sea Dogs game for each Opening Day ticket exchanged.

Typically if a game is postponed due to weather, tickets are exchangeable for a ticket of equal or lesser value to any remaining game, based upon availability.

This winter has brought historic snowfall and record cold temperatures to Portland.

Tickets for Opening Day and all 2015 Sea Dogs games can be purchased by calling the Sea Dogs ticket office at 207-879-9500 or order online at http://www.seadogs.com.

Sea Dogs to feature top Red Sox prospects at Thursday opener

The Portland Sea Dogs posted a franchise-high 88 wins last season and will have 12 players who saw duty for them back in uniform when the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox open their Eastern League season at 6 p.m. Thursday night against Reading at Hadlock Field in Portland. Two of the key returnees are 22-year-old right fielder Henry Ramos and 25-year-old left-handed relief pitcher Robby Scott. Ramos hit .326 with two homers and 23 runs batted in through 48 games before his season was cut short by a fractured tibia, which occurred when he fouled a ball off it. “Henry was one of the best hitters in the league before he got hurt,” Sea Dogs assistant general manager and public relations director Chris Cameron said...

Sea Dogs Announce 2015 Roster

PORTLAND, MAINE - The Boston Red Sox have set a preliminary roster for the 2015 Portland Sea Dogs. The roster features four players among the Red Sox top 30 prospects as ranked by Baseball America: Carlos Asuaje (#25), Justin Haley (#28), Henry Ramos (#29), and Pat Light (#30). The Sea Dogs open the 2015 season at Hadlock Field on Thursday, April 9th, against the Reading Fightin Phils at 6:00 PM.

The roster contains 26 players, which will be reduced to 25, the Eastern League maximum, by the Sea Dogs opener on Thursday. The roster includes 12 players who saw action with the Sea Dogs in 2014, including Eastern League mid-season All-Star Robby Scott and Sea Dogs' Citizen of the Year Mike McCarthy.

The pitching staff is highlighted by Scott, who spent all of 2014 in Portland and went 8-2 with 3 saves and a 1.96 ERA in 34 relief appearances (1 start) en route to being named a 2014 Eastern League mid-season All-Star. The Sea Dogs also return Mike Augliera, who led the staff in innings pitched (148.0) and games started (24) and went 8-10 with a 4.56 ERA while posting and Eastern League-best 1.23 BB/9.0 IP. Justin Haley will also be returning to Portland after finishing the 2014 season with the 2nd best ERA (2.35) among Red Sox farmhands. The 6'5" righty made 6 starts for the Sea Dogs after being called up in late July from Salem (A+), where he was a Carolina League mid-season All-Star. The staff will also feature Pat Light,

Portland Sea Dogs: Getting used to the cold, each other

by KALLE OAKES.. PORTLAND — The long-standing appeal of clutching an April ticket to a Portland Sea Dogs game in your frostbitten fingers is the knowledge that you are bound to observe a blue-chip prospect on the fast track to Boston. In fact, you’d better catch them while they’re hot and before the weather gets warm. Sea Dogs split season-opening doubleheader

PORTLAND, MAINE — The Portland Sea Dogs kicked off their season with an opening day split of an Eastern League doubleheader with the Reading Fightin Phils, winning game one 4-2 and dropping game two 9-0. The Sea Dogs got a three-run home run from Keury De La Cruz off Reading starter Aaron Nola. After Reading plated a run in the top of the 2nd to cut the Sea Dogs lead to 3-2, Portland answered with an RBI single from Mike Miller. Miller, making his AA debut, finished the twinbill 4-for-5 with a double, RBI, run scored and stolen base...
