Capers roll past Greely, 3-0
Cape Elizabeth remains unbeaten with a sweep and earns a berth in the Class B state final against Falmouth.

...Cape will face Falmouth, a 3-2 winner over Yarmouth, in the final at 1 p.m. Saturday at Cape Elizabeth.

“It feels great to make the final,” said Cape Coach Sarah Boeckel. “I knew we were better (this year) than we were last year (when) we lost the tight matches. This year, we are winning the tight matches.

“We only lost two players and had a huge returning class. Nice things are going to happen when you have your core back.”

Cape Elizabeth (16-0) relied on the Rangers’ mistakes in the first set, which saw runs by both teams before Megan Connelly served five consecutive points to give the Capers control with a 23-18 lead. Greely committed three unforced errors for Cape’s final points of the set.
