Camden Hills senior to play beach, indoor volleyball at Stetson University

... The closest place for Rozsahegyi to play competitively — since CHRHS does not offer the sport — was Maine Junior Olympic Volleyball out of Portland, which is a program of U.S.A. Volleyball and the New England Region of U.S.A.V (NERVA).

Maine Juniors offers scrimmages and tournaments for indoor volleyball in Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Thus, Rozsahegyi’s mother, Renata, has largely, twice a week, eight months out of the year for the past six, has driven Alexis to at least Portland and sometimes further, to play the sport she loves.

“She’s crazy-awesome,” said Rozsahegyi of her mother. “We got here and they didn’t have volleyball and she could have just been like a lot of other moms and said, ‘Choose another sport.’ I don’t know where I would be honestly [without her].”
