Lewiston falls to Messalonskee

...“Huge morale booster,” Messalonskee’s Connor Smith, who scored five goals, said. “You know, before the last (meeting), we had never lost to Lewiston at home. So for us … to come in here, taking them away at their own barn, that’s huge.”

The Eagles opened the season April 13 with a 13-7 loss to the Blue Devils, a game that coach Tom Sheridan said wasn’t as close as the final score.

“We weren’t quite the team we are now,” Sheridan said. “They definitely played better that day. We did not deserve to even come close.”

Lewiston takes down Camden Hills in boys' lacrosse

... "We had a couple of tough games against Brunswick, and we wanted to just kind of hit the reset button, get back to basics and start playing some good lacrosse heading into the playoffs," Lewiston coach Ben Fournier said.

On the other side of the field, Camden Hills rocketed out to an 8-0 start this season, but had played just one game against a team with a winning record.

"This was a perfect time for a game like this," Camden Hills coach Wade Ward said. "It's kind of bittersweet, but it's a perfect time for a game like this."

Lewiston doubles up Edward Little

...“We just kind of get on some rolls, and once one good thing happens, it’s like a domino effect, a bunch of good things start happening,” Lewiston coach Ben Fournier said.

“Unfortunately, the flip side is also true: a bad thing starts happening, and multiple bad things start happening. We want to play a more consistent good game all the way through, instead of having those mental lapses.”

Roman Dennis scored in the opening minute Tuesday to give Lewiston a quick 1-0 lead. The score stayed there until about a minute into the second quarter when Edward Little’s Tyler Morin scored to tie the game.

Then the Blue Devils took over.

Lewiston beats Mt. Ararat in final game played at Don Roux Field

...Both were satisfied by Tuesday’s 10-4 win over Mt. Ararat in the final game of the regular season and the final game at Don Roux Field.

“I think the biggest thing coming into this game was our playoff mentality,” Rivet said. “We wanted to win this game because now they’re playoff games, so one game could be your last. Especially for the seniors, so we do it for the seniors.”

Rivet helped the Blue Devils take control early when he scored two minutes into the game.
