Ruocco returns to Marshwood's helm

... He said he also witnessed the problems of not having enough qualified assistant coaches, one of the conditions he made before returning to Marshwood. He’ll be assisted by Jeff Hathaway, who captained one of his teams at Marshwood and went on to play four years at Keene State; and Andrew Elwell, a former lacrosse and football star at the school who was Ruocco’s JV coach his first time around.

“So that’s great,” said Ruocco. “Both of those guys are great guys with great work ethics. It’s what we need to do to turn this program around.”

He said he plans to meet with the players next week, none of whom he coached the first time around, though some could have taken part in clinics the high school players helped run.

“I talked to a lot of people before I took this job,” said Ruocco. “They’re good kids, they want to learn and there’s some talent there. They just need someone to lead them.”
