Red Claws post a 105-94 win over Tulsa
MarShon Brooks, recently assigned to Portland to get playing time, scores 27 points.
By Kevin Thomas

There were times that MarShon Brooks looked tired, running up and down the court for the Maine Red Claws. But there were a lot of times that Brooks looked like the NBA guard he is. Brooks, on loan from the Boston Celtics, scored 27 points to lead Maine to a 105-94 victory over the Tulsa 66ers Thursday night, before 2,255 at the Portland Expo...

Red Claws’ Brooks earns NBA promotion
The swingman’s D-League success impresses the Celtics.

LOS ANGELES — NBA Development League performances should always be halved or even divided by three when attempting to determine what a player like MarShon Brooks can do when brought up to the parent team. But the Celtics aren’t necessarily recalling him because of his 27.4 scoring average in five games with the Maine Red Claws...

Red Claws put it together in 115-92 win over Erie
Maine shrugs off an illness and an injury to rout the Bayhawks at the Expo.
By Kevin Thomas

In the fourth quarter, point guard Marcel Anderson drove in, then passed the ball to where he thought Frank Gaines was. The ball sailed out of bounds, well away from Gaines. The two looked at each other – and smiled. It was an enjoyable night to be playing for the Maine Red Claws and one mistake wasn’t going to dampen the fun.

Canton edges Red Claws in NBA D-League game
Maine has a chance to tie in the finals seconds, but Chris Babb’s 3-point shot hits off the rim.
By Paul D. Bowker

CANTON, Ohio — On an afternoon when he scored 20 points, Chris Babb nearly led the Maine Red Claws to an NBA D-League victory in the final 10 seconds Tuesday afternoon. Babb stole an inbounds pass with 1.4 seconds left to set up Maine’s last shot in an attempt to force overtime, but his 3-point attempt bounced off the back of the rim and away. D-League: Demoted Celtic leads Red Claws past Mad Ants
Vitor Faverani returns to Boston after the victory.
By Kevin Thomas

Vitor Faverani pumped his fist with emphasis after making a free throw during the Maine Red Claws’ rally. Think these Boston Celtics players are passive when they come down to the D-League? Faverani, a 6-foot-11 backup center for the Celtics, helped fuel Maine’s comeback Saturday night in a 115-104 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants before 2,757 at the Portland Expo...

Damen Bell-Holter knows the score on and off the court.
By Kevin Thomas

It was in Seattle that Damen Bell-Holter realized there was a way out. The big kid from the small town in Alaska could play basketball well. That made him sort of a celebrity in Hydaburg, a town of 350 people on Prince of Wales Island, in the southeast part of the state...
