The two high-profile cornerbacks are getting acquainted with teammates and schemes during preseason OTAs.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – It’s still early, but cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner are both enjoying their new starts with the New England Patriots. “Last year it was a tough year when I played in Tampa Bay,” said Revis, who signed a one-year, $12 million contract with the Patriots, with a $20 million team option for a second year. “It was tough, coming off the ACL and everything, so it was a long year, for me, personally just trying to recover...

Patriots notebook: Tom Brady motivated by disappointing finish
New England’s star quarterback had one of his worst statistical seasons last year as the Patriots lost in the AFC title game.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — In packed stadiums, Tom Brady had one of his worst statistical seasons. Behind the scenes, he’s working hard to have a better one. And, more importantly, carry the New England Patriots further – to the Super Bowl – than they went last season. Brady has heard Coach Bill Belichick stress throughout their 14 full seasons together “that whatever matters to you as an individual, it’s far distant from what the team goals are,” the quarterback said Monday...

Patriots’ Wilfork puts uncertainty in past
The lineman is back after an injury and a contract dispute

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Vince Wilfork tore his Achilles tendon. Then he clashed with the New England Patriots about his contract. His future with the team – and in football – was uncertain.
But there he was on a sunny field Thursday, smiling, joking and excited about the upcoming season. “I think this year is going to be one of the most exciting times of my career,” the defensive tackle said. “This year is going to be a little special just because of what I’ve been through and how far I came along.”

Another interesting QB at Patriots camp

Although there are numerous positions that need attention when the New England Patriots begin training camp practice July 24 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., there will be unusual curiosity about their newest quarterback.

He is Jimmy Garoppolo, the second-round draft pick out of Eastern Illinois. Of course, he is not the immediate heir to the No. 1 quarterback spot held by 15th-year veteran star Tom Brady. Garoppolo might not even beat out fourth-year veteran Ryan Mallett for the backup job...
