Mayo carries on Pats' linebacker tradition

That's all it took for the young linebackers to pounce.

"I got onto him (yesterday) about it, just messing around with him," second-year pro Dont'a Hightower said with a laugh. "He was stretching and talking about how he was a little sore, a little

Brady directs Pats to second preseason win

So much for worrying about Tom Brady’s left knee. The New England quarterback, who left practice on Wednesday after he went down with a bruised knee, threw a 26-yard touchdown pass to Danny Amendola on the Patriots’ first drive and followed with a two-point conversion pass to Zach Sudfeld in ...

Brady, Patriots look sharp in 25-21 victory
Two days after a scare goes through Patriots Nation, Tom Brady looks close to perfect vs. Tampa Bay.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - No need to fret about Tom Brady's knee. Opponents have plenty to worry about his nearly perfect arm.

Two days after spraining his left knee, the New England star completed his first 11 passes before missing his last one and threw his first touchdown to new top wide receiver Danny Amendola.

Patriots move on to other concerns
Brady shows he's healthy; penalties an issue

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Tom Brady quieted concerns about his knee and the Patriots defense got four sacks in a preseason game Friday night. Now about those penalties.

“We have to tighten that up,” New England coach Belichick said Saturday on a conference call with reporters, a day after New England was flagged 10 times. “In the end it ended up being a very competitive game.”

PATRIOTS: Fletcher making progress
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -- Football and Dane Fletcher didn't seem like the best match.

Hockey was his first choice. He didn't get drafted in the NFL. He spent all last season on injured reserve with the New England Patriots after hurting his knee in the first quarter of the first exhibition game.

There were times when the light at the end of his long rehabilitation tunnel seemed pretty dim.

NFL: Tebow's future with Pats uncertain
BY HOWARD ULMAN

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Tim Tebow walked off the practice field with no reporters blocking his path to the locker room. Finally, a few strolled up for a 90-second interview then moved on to longer chats with other Patriots.

The media circus that surrounded him last season is gone...

Lions force turnovers in routing Patriots

DETROIT — The Lions were one of the worst teams in the NFL at forcing turnovers last year. That hasn’t been a problem so far this preseason, but taking advantage of them has. Louis Delmas recovered a fumble in his first series of the preseason and the Lions forced three ...
