PATRIOTS: Brady working with new cast at camp

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Tom Brady sprinted sideline to sideline alongside fellow quarterbacks Tim Tebow and Ryan Mallett following the seventh day of New England Patriots training camp Friday.

Despite turning 36 today, more than a decade older than both of his backups, the Patriots’ franchise quarterback was able to keep pace with the others, even saving enough energy to sign autographs afterward for fans.

Kind of like Tebow, whom Brady seems to be helping learn New England’s offense.

NFL: McCourty leading revamped Patriots secondary

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Defensive players don’t come near New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady when he’s wearing a red jersey at training camp

The same goes for backups Ryan Mallett and Tim Tebow.

However, Devin McCourty is a different story.

Brady to Amendola – it's starting to click
New receiver Danny Amendola is showing signs of developing a chemistry with Tom Brady.
By KAREN GUREGIAN

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Coach Bill Belichick changed things up a bit Saturday by having his Patriots scrimmage.

The stars of the day? Tom Brady and Danny Amendola.

The quarterback and wide receiver only played what amounted to one series and change. But that's all they needed, and it almost wasn't fair to their teammates. Brady and Amendola looked like they had been working together for years, as opposed to months.

Patriots sign two rookie free agents to roster

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The New England Patriots signed two rookie free agents to their roster on Monday before leaving for their first exhibition game in Philadelphia.

The Patriots signed offensive lineman Matt Stankiewitch and long-snapper Mike Zupancic. Stankiewitch went to Penn State and Zupancic went to Eastern Michigan.

The team practiced at home on Monday and then left for Philadelphia. The Patriots and Eagles will hold joint practices on Tuesday and Wednesday. They play the exhibition opener on Friday night.

Pats need a break -- from training camp
After two weeks of practice, the players are looking forward to seeing new faces in Philadelphia.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — New England Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork has had enough of the same old faces over the first nine years of his career and the first two weeks of training camp.

"Any time you can go against someone other than your teammates, it's always a good measurement of where you're at," he said after practice on Monday before the Patriots left for Philadelphia, where they will hold joint practices and play a preseason game against the Eagles. "Going out and practicing with them and then going out to play against them, it's going to be a pretty good indicator of where we are as a team and as individuals."
