Postby PHSZShirland60 » Fri Jun 15, 2012 10:50 am

The Southern Maine Raging Bulls will be kicking off their 15th season this year.

The Southern Maine Raging Bulls are proud members of the New England Football League, and a non-profit dedicated to providing a place for adult amateur players to continue play after high school and college. The Bulls are a football team based on community involvement, personal betterment as well as a high level of full contact football.

Each of the players understands that this team is more than simply scoring touchdowns. Coach Bates brings his 4 “F’s” philosophy to the men and they buy into the program or move on. Your FAITH, FAMILY, FINANCE then FOOTBALL are the order of importance. This enables the men to be on the same page and to strive towards a common goal.

The Bulls of 2012 are proud to carry on this tradition and show the rest of the country what MAINE football is all about.

The Southern Maine Raging Bulls are a registered 501c3 organization. Giving back to the community has always been a very high point on their agenda. Charities such as The Ronald McDonald House, Make a Wish Foundation, Toys for Tots, Coats for Kids and many others have been the recipients of the Bulls time and efforts.

The Southern Maine Raging Bulls opened their preseason schedule with a 33-6 route of the Connecticut Gamblers on Saturday June 9th.

RB Phil Warren (Brunswick) & RB Imadhi Zagon (Portland) led the Bulls with 2 rushing TD's each and FB Charles Warren (Brunswick) punched in another as the Bulls stampeded the Gamblers in front of fans at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland. The scrimmage shows that the Southern Maine Raging Bulls will have another dominant running game and offensive line in The New England Football League.

QB Alexis Colon (Worcester, Mass.) threw for 0 TD's and 1 interception in the win. He drove the ball consistantly into the redzone for the running game to punch in. The Bulls defense forced 3 INT's and had a fumble recovery.
