Patriots' Jeremy Hill, Ralph Webb Hit The Ground Running In Preseason RaceIf the preseason opener against the Washington Redskins provided any indication, the New England Patriots’ backfield isn’t so cut and dried.
Jeremy Hill and Ralph Webb, in fact, showed they’re far from being cut and dried.
The veteran by way of the Cincinnati Bengals and the undrafted rookie by way of Vanderbilt hit the ground running in New England’s 26-17 win over Washington Thursday night at Gillette Stadium. Hill got the second crack at the carries, handling 11 for 51 yards and a touchdown. Then between the third and fourth quarters stepped in Webb, who handled 14 for 46 yards and two touchdowns to go with a pair of two-point conversions. He extended his hands out to make a difficult, shin-high catch on one of them.
