What a remarkable story Jon Lester is!! He just threw a NO-Hitter against the Kansas City Royals tonight at Fenway Park in Boston. what a young life this kid has led, beating cancer & Then throwing a no-hitter a year later. just WOW!!!

indeed what a story! Lester is finally developing into the pitcher he was thought to be when the Red Sox drafted him. A great all around evening for this young man who deserves every bit of it and more.

This was his first career complete game too. He has really pitched well since that matchup with Halliday. He has only walked two or three in his last 6 starts, He has been showing more control in recent games and this game just capped it off. After throwing 130 pitches tonight (also a career high) lets hope he gets an extra days rest before the next start.

This is the stuff movies are made of. From a low of being diagnosed with lymphoma to the highs of winning the clinching game of a world series and pitching a no hitter. How sweet it is!!

Varitek's 4th no-hitter he has caught (Nomo, Lowe, Bucholz and now Lester)...Which still pales in comparison to Nolan Ryan's 7 no-no's.

Kind of comparing two different things isn't it?

There's not a pitcher I'd rather see this happen to, truly one of my heros
