York sees win as a turning point (vs Falmouth)

...Gamache turned away 36 shots, including 16 in the third period, and the Wildcats had four different goal scorers in a 4-2 win over Falmouth at Dover Ice Arena.

“This is an unbelievable win for us,” said Gamache outside a boisterous York locker room. “I think it’s the spark we were looking for. I really think this is the turning point for our season. I think from here on out we’re going to have tremendous success.”

It was the second straight two-goal win York, after last Thursday’s 8-1 loss to Cape Elizabeth, a game which Falmouth watched from the stands at Portland’s Troubh Arena.

“Falmouth saw that game last week and probably thought we were the underdogs coming into this game and we took it to them,” said York senior Mark Engholm, who netted York’s final goal with 2:33 left. “This win is a huge momentum changer. ... I thought we played very physical, and our forecheck was incredible.”
