When is the last time after one week the Portland schools, Portland, Deering, and Cheverus were a collective 0 and 3 while being out scored 14-87 ?

Think 2 in Top 10 bite the dust this week....Windham and Messalonskee....

BE will show Windham how big gap is between good and great....

Kennebunk will beat Messalonskee in defensive game.....K has great defense....not many points will be scored in this one ...but Rams score enough to win in Oakland
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another Top 10er, Winslow, will have their hands full in moving up to B to play Lawrence at Keyes Field....because game is at Lawrence and because in reality this is a B sized school vs a D sized school, I rate this a toss up....Winslow could be " upset ".....

Probably be at Winslow at Lawrence....it is somewhat of a historic game given its renewal of the fierce ancient rivalry....

My other possibility, though remote, is Windham at BE....my number 1 and 6th ranked teams...

No Marshwood...and Oxford Hills at 4.

That is a tough top ten to swallow personally, but I guess it is too early to really tell. Overall, I think people gave Portland far too much credit entering this season. Oxford Hills has a chance to be pretty good, but I still favor Windham up North.

Marshwood had an excellent preseason and I think they deserve mention above Biddeford and Falmouth at least.

It makes more sense for the Portland media market if Oxford Hills is that good...not Portland being that bad. Now, I will say that neither is the case as Oxford Hills has a strong line, good backs and are a solid football team. Portland does not have the linebackers\backs this year that it has had in the recent past (Bachelder, Esposito, Chaison-Lapine, Archambeault, Knopp, Bolduc etc etc) but the current crop are good players and their line isn't too bad. I think OH is on the cusp of the top 10 and Portland is probably around 20-25 right now. But #4? I don't see that....yet.

Nothing like a fan with a rational brain. I try to have one with TA, but sometimes, it fails me :p

Nice to see someone with a level head. I think it will be tough for people to climb in the top ten this season, because most of the teams in it currently have good shots at winning a lot of games. B South could get interesting, but other than that, it seems pretty straightforward in most conferences in terms of the top two or three teams.

While I think Scarborough is very strong and most likely the team to beat, not sure how you rank them above the reigning state champs who won by a bigger margin last week.
