BREAKING.... Mountain Valley football coach Pat Mooney has resigned. #MeSports

Talk about a program that has fallen from being the mightiest in Class B West to a floundering Class D program. Sad to see because this used to be a fun team to watch. Always very strong and physical. Used to be one of the toughest places to play and not just because of the home cooking in the officiating

Jim Aylward had that thing GOING! It was such an intimidating place to play in the 90s. We won a playoff game, in Rumford, in 1998 and it felt like such a huge accomplishment...fans also threw stuff at our buses on the way out, lol. They were passionate, boy!

I fondly recall busses being peppered as you went down mainstreet in Rumford. Beer cans being tossed, I even recall some of their cheerleaders mooning the bus, the place was just insane and was always my favorite road trip of the year for football.

After Hartman’s comments regarding the State Championship, I’m not surprised he’s stepping down.
Best wishes in retirement to him.

After an eventful 10-year run as Greely's football coach, David Higgins has resigned. Higgins told me this morning, "It's been a lot of fun, but it's time." Higgins cited the program's perennial low numbers and his business' demands as reasons.

Man, I recall when Greeley was really good at the youth level. It’s a shame, good athletes for basketball and lack of love for football. 8 man play may be a good choice for communities like this...

H.S. football: Poland coach Spencer Emerson leaving for school on "Last Chance U"

Spencer Emerson is leaving his post as Poland Regional High School’s football coach after only one season.

The Edward Little High School graduate also is leaving Maine to take a job as the running backs coach and video coordinator at Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas.

Independence CC was featured on Season 3 of the Netflix show “Last Chance U.”

“A friend of mine that coaches at Bates told me jokingly, ‘Hey you know we saw on footballscoop.com that the school from Last Chance U is hiring.’ I saw open slots and thought it would be interesting, so I emailed my resume.
