Mt. Blue finishes off Edward Little

The Cougars (3-2) scored a goal in the first half, two more in the second and used impressive passing skills to fend off determined Edward Little (2-3) and win, 3-0.

“That’s the story of our … for a long as I can remember,” Harmon said. “We are right there every time and keep pounding it in. Just getting someone to finish it.

“I definitely liked the passing, communicating. That is something we have been really trying to focus on. We had seven sequences that were just awesome. But now it is just finishing it.”

Mt. Blue cuts stubborn Cony loose

...The Cougars figured it out and punched in three second-half goals against the tenacious Rams to collect a 4-0 victory at murky-and-muggy Caldwell Field on Tuesday.

“We were holding and carrying the ball too long instead of passing it and getting rid of it,” Mt. Blue coach Jody Harmon said. “It is two dribbles and pass the ball. Pass it up the field and pass it around them and just get it in the cage.

“'Oh, oh, the ball is near me and now I will decide to move instead of attacking.' They realized they were doing that and they were all talking to each other about it so they decided to get moving and attack the ball.”
