The Machias Girls are taking their hits but will be something to watch in a few years. Lots of heart and hustle on the team. 8th grade team mate Jaida Case had 18 pts against undefeated DI Stonington the other day/ avg 10 ppg last 3 games. Working as a team they have gone from barely scoring 20 ppg to 30-40. Hopefully the girls will stay together and bring back a once competitive program.

That's impressive. Good experience for those 8th graders to get this extra year in. Machias and WA both struggling let's hope things turn around.

WA recently got 2 wins which is good for the girls hope they can build next summer/ Fall. I don’t know how many exchange kids there are or if it’s a factor if they come back or not. Machias will be okay; persistence and patience & stay the course. It’s good altho was a necessity for the 8th graders but they’ve had good crowds at games, supportive parents and fans. Rumor is they will be doing same to supplement softball. The JR high has had success with softball so they could perhaps get a couple of wins in HS. They have some good hitters and a lefty pitcher throws with some heat sometimes so could be interesting. But again it’s a different game in HS. Like to see kids from all schools have a positive experience.
