Waterville Panthers only Class B team undefeated! Should be an exciting tournament!

Waterville is having real good season, but I still think that it's Hermons tournament to lose even though they did lose to old Town last night. Would be a good match up if they play Waterville!

Watched Hermon play early in the season, They looked very strong. I feel they will win, although I will be rooting for John Bapst Girls. Chris Woodside former Calais coach and state champions. Good luck Chris Calais is behind you all the way.

Old Town has three freshmen and a sophomore that are major contributors. Very athletic and quick, which bodes well on the big floor. Only graduate one senior. They’re a year away, but to win a tourney game with such a young team would be a great jump for a program that’s had two tournament appearances in the past two decades.

The top three teams appear to be solidly in the place. Just waiting for the final positioning of those three. I believe if MDI wins their remaining two games they will end up the top seed, followed closely in the #2 spot by Hermon if the Hawks win out. The #3 seed will be Waterville unless MDI or Hermon drop one of their final games. Unfortunately the Purple Panthers schedule lacked any big point Class A teams. Playing a program like Gardiner, Lawrence, or Skowhegan would have paid huge dividends for them, even if they split those games. Waterville looks to be headed toward a potential third matchup with Winslow, or a matchup with perennial girl's basketball power Presque Isle in the quarterfinals.

The #4 and #5 teams appear to be set as well. Old Town and Ellsworth appear to be a collision course in the quarterfinals. Ellsworth didn't fare well when they played the Coyotes, but we all know anything can happen in Bangor!!

The sleeper team in this tournament could be Oceanside. They will be dangerous if they make it to the CIC.

Don't understand why they don't play Lawrence only 10-15 min apart and Gardner not too far away!

The class A teams Waterville played were Messalonskee and Cony.

In normal years those would be good Class A opponents.

To amend my post above slightly... Winslow can finish 5th if they win both of their remaining games. Unless of course Ellsworth upsets MDI for 2nd time this winter on Wednesday night. STAY TUNED!!
