2018 Class B North Hermon Invitational

Postby MrBeauxJanglesDeux » Fri Feb 09, 2018 11:31 am

Will there be any other schools that can send a team to Bangor to win the Class B Hermon Invitational this season? Nobody has touched the boys yet and the girls had a couple early/mid season hiccups but seem to have the squad on cruise control now!! It’s been the year of the bird in sports so far in 2018, I doubt Hermon will destroy the town after a win to send them to the big game however.

Unlike the Cleveland Cavs those off-season moves are paying off!

Class B North girl's is wide open. I think any of the top 7 teams can win the tournament and advance to the Class B State Championship game.

I think the winner of the MDI/Winslow game could make a deep run in Bangor. Both teams are very athletic and don't depend on one or two player(s) to do most of their scoring.

The question you don't dare to ask is could the Hermon girls even win the class C. I bet 3 or4 teams other then Houlton could beat them.

It's tourney time. Not best of 7 series. One and done. These are kids on a big stage. Anything can happen. One only needs to remember Deering vs Bangor boys a few years back. Deering was invincible. Oops, no they weren't. I wish all the teams luck. I feel fortunate as a fan to be able to sit and enjoy the games. Fun week ahead!!

Nobody has touched the boys as he has stated, but what he doesn't say is the reason nobody has touched the boys.
Maybe the recruited the kid from Machias to help out. Why no faith in your local boys to get it done like every other team? Kind of like buying a championship, if in fact they do win it....What fun is it if you have to do something like that in high school basketball. But hey, I guess it's all about making sure my kid gets a trophy before he graduates these days.
I agree how boastful to make that comment on "Hermon Invitational?" And then have no conscience about what you did to make it happen.
