Nia Irving upping her game
Former Lawrence star improving her defense along with offense at Boston University.

...The 6-foot-1 center was also awarded a spot on the Patriot League all-rookie team last season, but she knows she still has a lot she can continue to work on.

“The biggest adjustment was the pace on the court,” she sad. “It’s nothing like high school ball. You really have to adapt to that.”

The goal for the Terriers is to get to a Patriot League championship. While it’s taken years of rebuilding to get to a point to contend, Irving is playing well at the right time. That all begins for Irving with working on improving her own game.

Allie Clement faces knee surgery, to miss rest of season at Marist
The former McAuley High star has a torn ACL in her left knee, one year after suffering the same injury in her right knee.

Allie Clement, the former McAuley High star who led the Lions to four consecutive Class A state championships, will undergo surgery on her left knee Thursday morning to repair a torn ACL.

Clement, a redshirt junior at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, injured her knee in a 64-42 victory over Rhode Island on Dec. 6, the Red Foxes’ ninth game of the season.

It’s the second consecutive year Clement has had her season end with a knee injury. Last year she blew out her right knee in Marist’s third game of the season.

But Clement is determined to come back from this injury.
