A Husky’s homecoming: Todd looking forward to ‘road’ game at UNH

...“Growing up with UNH down the street, I would always go to UNH games with my parents,” Todd said. “It’s going to be cool to be playing in one of those games.”

York head coach Steve Freeman, Taylor, and members of this year’s varsity program plan to be at the game.

“I am definitely looking forward to that and seeing everybody,” Todd said. “I know when we went to watch Niki play all four years, we didn’t care if she played a minute or the full game. It wasn’t about that. It was about seeing her and supporting her. I am looking forward to a fun experience.”

Todd has started all six games for the Huskies this season, averaging just over 34 minutes and 13 points a game. Todd, who led York to the Class A state championship in 2016, is one of five Huskies averaging double figures in points.

Todd has scored in double figures in all six games and tallied a season-high 15 points in a 99-95, overtime loss to Providence, as well as in a 20-point win over Fairfield.

Bowdoin’s success in women’s basketball is helped by Mainers
The unbeaten, nationally ranked Polar Bears have five Maine players on a deep, talented squad.

...Graham, a 5-foot-9 guard, did the stepping up Saturday. She came off the bench and sizzled, totaling 15 points and three rebounds in only 11 minutes.

The other Mainers on the roster are senior forward Lydia Caputi of Brunswick, junior center Cordelia Stewart of Bangor, sophomore forward Maddie Hasson of South Portland and freshman guard Moira Train of Cumberland.

“I definitely have an affinity for Maine high school players,” said Shibles, who grew up in Knox, which is 25 miles east of Waterville, and played basketball at nearby Mt. View High in Thorndike. Shibles played her college ball at Bates.

“Our goal is to bring in at least one Mainer in each class.”
