td101: The original proposal was for only 5 exhibition games not 5 exhibition dates that is the mpa rule currently.

If a team plays a team that has a prelim game before the final 8 in each class they can play an extra exhibition game.

Before this rule was put in it was up to each individual school as to how many exhibition games they played. Called "Local Control".

Cim,

If you really believe that teams should not play the 1st weekend, which does have some merit, depending on what you are trying to accomplish, why did you do it at Bapst?

Coach: Coach did I really post that???????

At Bapst after trouts on Monday and Tuesday we were fairly ready because Wednesday and Thursday was review of the offense and defense we had used previously in the past season and in the summer.

At Bapst we played Saturday of the first week. Usually 2 games in the afternoon at Waterville 1:00pm and 2:30pm and 2 games in the evening at Cony at 6:00pm and 7:30pm

or

2 games Friday nite and 2 games Saturday.

Of the 2 game sets we agreed with other coach to play to win against the tougher of the 2 teams and the other we played everyone some.
