The Waynflete position says "first team." So that's anyone who doesn't make varsity or JV. Most bigger schools call their freshmen team the first team. But at the smaller schools it's basically the players who weren't picked for V/JV.

Heard Waterville finally interviewed for their boys varsity position. Anyone hear who they hired? If they've hired someone?

Gardiner HS coach resigned at end of Summer League
That program needs a major overhaul to get back to competitive basketball.

Heard the other day that Gardiner is reverting back to their old ways and has become a rough place to be for all things education related, especially coaching and administration. Sad to see. Hope Coach Cassidy lands on his feet somewhere soon.

They have been competitive the last 10 years.

The replacement will look to carry on what Cassidy helped turn into a steady Class B and then Class A contender. He led the Tigers to winning records in seven of his 11 seasons and brought Gardiner to the 2012 Class B state championship game, where it lost to Yarmouth

Sorry to see Coach Cassidy get done. A good coach who did an outstanding job. Coaches like him are hard to come by in H.S. sports. Good luck and enjoy your children's activities. Hope to see you back at some point.
