Sunday Conversation: Lovejoy looking to lead Rams to new heights this season

CL: Our goal is to compete for a state championship ... I think we’re going to be able to get a home game in the Expo and I think we should be able to win it.

PM: What has it been like playing for coach Belanger?

CL: It’s awesome. He really gets the players unlike most coaches and he really tries to focus on our talents and not trying to just run his own style of offense.

PM: Where do you think this team will be at the end of the season?

CL: I think we should be able to be a top three team in this league ... coming into the playoffs I feel like we should be able to get to the Civic Center at least.

PM: What are the goals beyond this season? Are you beginning to look at colleges yet?

CL: I’ve been talking to a couple (colleges), but this spring playing basketball I feel like it will be when I decide where I go, mostly.

PM: What do you do in the offseason?

CL: I play AAU and I train four-to-five days a week just for basketball — shooting, dribbling, all that.

PM: What has the support been like from your family?

CL: My mom and dad, my sister and also my brother, they are always there for me, always giving me rides, you know they are the ones supplying the money for it. I can’t thank them enough. They are the ones making this possible.
