I timed (with an actual stopwatch, what a concept) the whole Shead-SA situation and it's about eight seconds from the time Mr. Kimball put the ball down to when he blew the whistle.

EIGHT WHOLE SECONDS.

It was also about ten seconds from after the second horn blew to when he put the ball down. Additionally, the reason he didn't get a state game is because he made himself unavailable, as he was the replay official at the America East Tournament in Portland.

It certainly clears up the counting by 2s to get to 5 theory....he stopped at 8 !

lol lol lol

dunbar...reffan loves zebra apologists! like whoever said the 3 second call in the Cheverus game was actually 6 seconds...

If this official is going to go "by the rule book".....then why is he allowing the team 8 seconds? Isn't the rule dunbar....5 seconds??? So, isn't that cheating the other team? Is he giving every team 8 seconds or just in that situation? Is 3 seconds rally 3 seconds or 6? or 8?

reffan is guessing Webb would not be very happy if an official is giving teams 8 seconds to get the throw in in!

reffan likes to say...what would the Great Jack Coyne do?

*in that situation he would never put the ball on the floor...blow the whistle a couple of times and let the kids decide the game. do not inject yourself into a tournament or actually any game!

**so you rule guys can not have it both ways....either a ref has to use his judgement and common sense or call the rules as written. 5 seconds means 5 seconds! not 8

Wait...reffan, you're calling out the "rules guys" for having it both ways? Yet you tried to sh*t on this ref because he made a 5 second by counting by 2s, you're called out by a member that proves it was actually 8, and you still want to give the ref sh*t because he made the call after 8 seconds instead of 5? The counting is an inexact science. Poster just showed it wasn't a short call. Never claimed the ref was perfect.

Is reffan a fraud? The dude thinks...maybe?

Reffan is Mertzel

hey dude,

reffan has no idea who this Kimball ref is and did not see the game. Northern posters said he counted to 5 by 2's. reffan only commented that he fell on the floor laughing at the gutl*** dwa** comment....

he is a candidate for Zebra of the Year because of the comments....not if he got the call right or wrong!

and reffan loves to call out ref lovers who say this guy or that guy takes shi* because they follow the rules and refs like Boomer pick and choose what rules to follow....well, if true, and the count was actually eight then this ref used his common sense and personal judgement...but did not follow the rules as written. So dude, does a team have ten seconds to get the ball in the front court....or do we give them 12....or if it is late in the game....do we give them 14.....

"fraud"? no shi* reffan is a make believe character!

Respectively,

Jeff Mertzel

"Respectively"? Reffan ain't Jeff Mertzel.

OK Reffan, here's a few question quiz...

What year did you graduate from Gardiner HS?

What sports did you play at Gardiner?

Did you ever attend Winkin's UMO baseball camp as a kid?

How about doing an all state officiating crew from each of the 5 boards and then pick the top 10 from that?
