"He(Nick Mayo) is the best player in the league(OVC), and he'll prove it every time he steps on the court". Not bad for a kid a year removed Messalonskee High School of The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference. If I remember correctly, Nick Mayo 'hit the scene' with coach Parker in Kentucky. Nick's upbringing, tutelage under coach Carl Parker, hard work and dedication to the game are the main reasons the sky is the limit for Nick Mayo.

Purifoy, along with freshman Anfernee McLemore, will focus on shutting down Nick Mayo. The sophomore, who averaged 14.5 points and 4.9 rebounds as the Ohio Valley Conference freshman of the year in 2015, put up 24 points against IUPUI and added 20 points against UNC Wilmington.

“Nick Mayo has a chance to be a pro. He’s a very talented inside player that they’ve done a wonderful job developing,” Pearl said. “He plays center, but he plays like a forward. He can do things inside and out.”

Just a little something Bruce Pearl, head coach of Auburn, said before the EKU vs Auburn game.

Mayo would be a huge fish in a small pond if he chose to transfer to Maine.
