And any true competitor, like young Garet Beal, would prefer to take what is his not have it handed to him. I'm sure he'll accept the award with class and the support of an area that is rich in tradition.

Congratulations Garet! Without taking away from any of the other great players in Maine, you are very deserving of this award. It was a pleasure watching you win the State Championship and working with you this past fall up in Van Buren. Feel free to visit again, as you have an open invitation to work out in VB anytime! Keep dreaming big and never listen to the detractors who criticize small town, and small school, talent!

Well deserved. I've watched Garet in the tourney the last couple of years and I'm very impressed.
Very smooth, plays under control, plays hard, wants to win. What are his aspirations? Any offers from D-1? Maybe he needs a year at Prep school to make that happen, but he seems to have the requisite size, skill, and drive for that level.
