Does anyone have a list of Maine H.S. Basketball All-Time Scoring Leaders? Maybe break them down by class? A, B, C, D, or whatever class they were in at that time. Thanks.

Brandon McCarthy from Katahdin had well over 2000 points from 1998 - 2001.

Brandon was a very good player, however, I would be surprised if he had "well over 2000 points".

I remember reading it at the time, when Brandon McCarthy bested the school record, previously held by current coach Shawn Craig, If I recall correctly it was around 1600 very late in his Senior Year. He wasn't close to 2000

Ok, I guess their is a little controversy on this one. I guess the wall in Katahdin has him down as scoring 1750 points....But I guess their is something to do with his Freshman year's books, they lost them or couldn't count them because all they had was a secondary book not the official book(something of that nature)...However Brandon, did receive a letter from the House of Representatives in Maine congratulating him on a great career and achieving a total of 2103 points during his Varsity playing days.

Did he play varsity all four years? JV and freshman team scoring don't count towards official scoring totals.

If he did play varsity all four years, the school might be able to get at least some of his totals verified for his away games by asking other schools that Katahdin has played for their official "book" for the games that they played against each other. Lots of leg work but if he scored over 2000 it should be verified. 2000 points is a great achievement and looking at the list, its not something that happens very often.

I'd be willing to bet that if he scored 2000+,Frankspanky would have already had it verified and posted.
