Postby bcbc55 » Sat Jul 07, 2018 4:16 pm

During a basketball game when is the only time that the defensive players on the court in the game should not know where the basketball is and why?

Answer later this week.

When locating their man when a shot goes up to size them up for a box out. Only a guess....

That's a good guess. Any defensive player watching the ball in flight towards the basket is getting beat underneath. But best case, you have at least noted the trajectory to anticipate where the ball will be once you face the basket. Or you find yourself in a good position to box out and see the ball at the same time.

When a Cim coached team has only made 5 of their mandatory 15 passes !

Just kidding Cim....I like the rebounding response so far.

Assumption is game is going on, versus stoppage in play. I agree with face guarding. Back in Cim's day it was the old Box n 1.

"ExpoEddie": Clock is running. Which back in my day? My playing days or My coaching days?

Used the old box and one and diamond and one back in my coaching days. Called them "Junk Defenses". Even played a little "Triangle and two" also.

Also had to face some box and diamond and ones offensively. Philosophy was not to let one outstanding player beat you make the other 4 players try to beat you.

Junk defenses were more effective for us defensively then they were against us offensively.

Answer to the question is coming on Friday.

Tubby Wasburn at Cheverus and Gene Hunter at South Portland ran their "Little T", now just known as 1/3/1. Still going with faceguard for now.
